Frequently Asked Questions

  • Therapy serves as a supportive environment where individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe and non-judgmental space. This process allows you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the challenges you face. It's important to remember that in therapy, you set the pace. If you're ready to delve into certain topics, we’ll go there together; if you need to take it slow, that’s perfectly fine too. The journey of self-discovery and healing is uniquely yours, and we will be with you every step of the way, ensuring that you feel both comfortable and empowered as you navigate your personal growth.

  • Choosing the right therapist can be similar to dating, but you don't need to swipe right! Start by checking their credentials to ensure they are licensed professionals. Consider your specific needs, such as anxiety, depression, or couples therapy, and look for what meets your needs. Lastly, don't overlook the importance of personal chemistry; if the first session feels uncomfortable, it's okay to seek someone else. Therapy should be a supportive conversation, not an interrogation about your past.

  • The first session is a great chance for you to share what really drives you, express yourself, and talk about the changes you want in your life. During our first meeting, we’ll dig into your background and what motivates you, helping us understand your personal journey better. It’s also important for us to see if we vibe well together since having a strong connection is key to working together effectively.

Setting clear goals is super important for guiding your transformation! They give you direction and purpose while helping you track your progress. By sharing your aspirations, we create a roadmap for success and boost your commitment to change. Plus, the journey to achieving these goals builds resilience and confidence, making sure our collaboration focuses on meaningful objectives that truly inspire and motivate you.

  • EFT, or Emotionally Focused Therapy, is a proven and structured approach to couples therapy that zeroes in on enhancing emotional connection and attachment between partners. Developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, EFT is grounded in research and has a high success rate in helping couples navigate their emotional landscapes. By helping couples identify and transform negative interaction cycles, EFT fosters stronger emotional bonds and better communication, leading to healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

EFT can also be tailored for individuals, guiding them to understand and manage their emotions more effectively. This individual-focused approach empowers people to identify their emotional triggers, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and improve their overall emotional intelligence. Ultimately, this self-awareness and emotional management contribute to better relationships, not just with partners but also with friends, family, and colleagues. Through EFT, both couples and individuals can achieve deeper emotional connections and more resilient relationships.
